Demo Return Standard

This sample policy suggests requesting a return within 30 calendar days after delivery. Items must be unused, unlit, unassembled, undamaged, and returned with original packaging and proof of purchase where reasonably required; mandatory local consumer rights remain unaffected. The actual merchant must revise this standard to match its operations and the laws where it does business.

Return Process

  1. Contact the working returns email or form and provide the order number and reason for return.
  2. After receiving return instructions, send the item to the designated address.
  3. The merchant inspects the return and communicates the decision; approved refunds should be sent to the original payment method within the published time frame.

Costs and Exceptions

Before launch, clearly state who pays return shipping for non-defective items, whether original shipping is refundable, any restocking fee, final-sale exclusions, and exchange rules. For incorrect, damaged, or confirmed defective items, merchants should generally cover reasonable return costs. Purchases made after following a promotional link follow the destination merchant's return and exchange policy.
